What Does Love Mean to You?

For me, love is many things. Love is when my sister closes her door at night so she doesn’t disturb my sleep. Love is when my brother calls just because he wants to chat. Love is when Mom and Dad wait up until I get home at night to make sure I’m safe. Love is when my best friend has listened to the same breakdown fifty times but is still willing to listen the fifty-first time. Love is when my coworker buys a salad that’s too big for her to eat on her own and insists on sharing it with me. Love is when God sends the Holy Ghost to comfort me when times are hard and to give me peace when I’m struggling. Love is when He sends people my way to help, support, and encourage me. Love is when He keeps heaven’s gates open so I can talk with Him whenever I need it.
In my greatest hour of need, God has done many things to help alleviate the nagging work stress I have experienced lately. He sends me peace through the Holy Ghost, who reassures me it will be okay. He sent me three amazing best friends and an amazing sister, who are patient with me as they listen to my rants and offer me praise and words of encouragement. He sent me kind coworkers who do their best to help out whenever they can and assure me that all I can do is enough. All of these (plus the efforts of those He has sent) have been evidence of both God’s love for me and the love His children have for me. I am grateful every day for a loving Heavenly Father who cared enough to give me such precious gifts.
