The Most Important Message the Lord Has For His Children

I have always been told that the Lord won't repeat revelation he gives us. “He already asked you to do it once, he isn't obligated to ask you again. If you're really lucky, he'll remind you once, but no more.”
That can't be true because for the past month, every single institute class, Sunday school lesson, relief society discussion, institute devotional and even work training I've been to has been filled with the Spirit asking me again and again in different inspirational ways to do the same thing God wants me to do.
It's not uncommon to feel inadequate or that we aren't living up to the best we are supposed to be. I mess up. I'm not perfect. I'm often unqualified to do the things expected of me. How can I do any good when I'm not any good? These are questions that go through all our heads sometimes, for some more than others. The thing is, because of my Heavenly Father's love for me, and all His children, I know, no matter how convincing the thoughts can be- they are lies.
Over and over again the message my Father has repeated to me everywhere I go to learn is that He loves me and He asks me to love myself. We know when we read the scriptures that the most important messages are repeated. So why wouldn't the Lord repeat to us through the Spirit the most important things He wants us to know?

Through this experience I've learned how vastly important it is to love ourselves. Our Heavenly Father loves us more than we can even comprehend, who are we to hate what the Lord so dearly loves? A one hundred dollar bill is and will continue to be valuable no matter if it is crumpled or dirty. The value we hold as children of God will remain whether we fail or succeed at the things we are expected to do. Whether we excel, digress, stay the same, mess up, succeed--our Father will continue to love us. Although our actions determine our consequences, the love we are given is not determined by what we do. We will always be loved. Period.
The first step to becoming the best we can be and progressing through life is learning to love who we are behind all our failures. Behind all the mistakes and confusions, we are children of our Heavenly Father with personalities and spirits that deserve to be loved.Once we can see that value for ourselves, we can begin to become who the Lord always knew we could be. If our feelings toward ourselves were inconsequential, the Lord wouldn’t keep repeating the direction to love myself in every facet of my life. If it wasn’t completely essential for progression, the Lord wouldn’t have said so at all, let alone leave the message around every corner.
God loves you and will always love you. He wants YOU to love you, and then loving others will come easier. When you truly understand the love the Lord has for His children, you know how truly joyful this life can be if you simply embrace that love and accept that you deserve it. Never let anything you’ve done prevent you from loving who you are. You are too precious to your Savior to let yourself hate you. No one deserves to be hated. You don’t deserve to be hated. You will never be without love. If you aren’t sure about that, all you have to do is ask. God will let you feel His love for you if you open your arms and take it.
