Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night/Whatever, Dear Reader!
When I heard that the Digital Missionaries (makes me think of Digimon, you know, Digital Monsters? Remember that? That crap was awesome. Of course, so are Digital Missionaries (Digimish?) so I guess it’s only fitting) were in search of average Joes and Jills to write blog posts I got really excited (like Chihuahua seeing a burrito excited) and volunteered immediately. Only then did I realize what I had gotten myself into: they were expecting me to write something INSPIRATIONAL! Now, what I write usually falls under the category of “Rubbish” or “Stream-of-consciousness ramblings laced with parentheses (the two are synonymous)” but I love the Lord and I love the Digimish and I love you guys so I’m going for it!

Tonight I wish to write on what is undeniably my favorite facet of the Gospel: Hope. Yes, Hope with a capital H. My absolute favorite thing about the Gospel is knowing that no matter what utter garbage happens to you in life (failure, breakups, physical pain, finding a pickle in your hamburger that you just paid for and specifically ordered WITHOUT pickles because pickles were created with the express purpose of tormenting man in this mortal existence) EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK. It just is.
If we do the absolute best we can to be the best we can be and just hang on a little bit, everything works out in the end. Every time. Because our Heavenly Father has promised it will. Heck, even if we are run over by a herd of wildebeest and shuffle off the mortal coil, we are promised that we will return to life with a perfect body (free of hoof prints and/or acne). That’s pretty amazing. And yeah, I bolded, underlined and italicized that. It’s the most important thing there is in this whole mess of words and punctuation.
I want you to do something for me right now. Close your eyes and think back over the past few years. Think about how many times you’ve sat on your bed or on the floor on in the shower and thought to yourself: “How am I going to get through this? This is too much for me.” Now, open your eyes and take a look at yourself. Are you still here? Are you still moving forward? If you’re reading this, the answer is a resounding YES. Maybe life is awesome for you now and maybe it is not but the simple fact remains that you’re HERE. You’ve made it this far (and that means you even made it through Junior High and take it from a Jr. High teacher, if you can make it through THAT you can make it through ANYTHING. I mean, If you can survive having your voice squeak and your face break out spontaneously as if by some evil pubescent black magic the first time you get the courage up to speak to that cute blonde girl, is there anything you can’t do??) and you’re still here, doggone it! What can the world throw at you that could possibly get you down?
Now, if I may, I would like to suggest one thing. If you feel as full of gratitude as I have felt while writing this please turn your face up to Heaven and tell your Father thank you for getting you this far. Because with as ridiculous as we human beings can be that’s probably the biggest miracle there ever was. I hope you feel His love as I do right now. Isn’t that awesome? That’s why Hope is my favorite part of the Gospel (Linger Longer being a close second).

Thank you for taking time to read this post and for supporting the Digimish in their incredibly important callings (Digimish are the champions! Don’t get the reference? Google it. Your life will be changed) and for sharing it if you decide to do so. The YSA of the Ogden area are an incredible bunch of people and I’ve been so impressed with you all ever since I came here.
I know God lives, I know Jesus Christ lives and I know that through and because of them each and every one of us can have the firm reassurance that no matter what everything is going to be ok in the end. That small and simple truth is what keeps me going each day.
I’m going to sign off now, and I don’t know if I’m supposed to put my name on this or leave it all anonymous like. The Digimish didn’t really give me any instructions on that part and I can’t go look at previous posts to see because BAM! School Internet says get off Facebook and do your Geometry so…. I’m just going to do it and if they censor me like the old school Soviet Union then oh well!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
