Today-- I fasted for a miracle

Today-- I fasted for a miracle.
I pled with the Lord,
Thy will be done,
But
If possible,
Could thy will include
A miracle?
Have miracles ceased because Christ hath ascended into heaven?
Today-- I prayed for a miracle.
I knelt down with the Lord,
Ask and ye shall receive,
And
I asked Him:
Could thy will include
A miracle--
please?
Have miracles ceased?
Today-- I pondered miracles.
I secluded myself with the Lord,
Seek and ye shall find,
And
A thought was opened unto me.
What I envision as a miracle may not come to pass. In my mind, the perfect miracle, the one I am seeking, materializes exactly as I seek it. Like a child opening a present at Christmas, my miracle comes directly from my list of requirements. My miracle has all the bells and whistles and it looks just like the advertisement I created in my head.
However, what God envisions as a miracle shall come to pass. In His mind, the perfect miracle, the one He is seeking to give, manifests exactly as He desires it. Like a parent giving a child a present at Christmas, His miracle isn’t on my list; it is something I didn’t consider, but after anxiously waiting, when I finally open it-- though surprised -- my miracle is the most personalized, handmade gift I have ever received. The miracle God gifts me is greater than what I had envisioned it would or could be.
Knock and it shall be opened unto you.
It is by faith that miracles are wrought.
Today--
I am fasting--
I am praying--
I am pondering--
I am asking--
I am seeking--
I am knocking--
For a miracle.
--- and I believe it shall be opened unto me.
